Default Is my clutch going?

I have a 94 sti. Last few months i have had clutch judder, which after reading various forums presumed normal. Now in the last week if i put my foot down in 2nd or 3rd it feels like its slipping. but will excelerate happy in 1st. I have booked it in to get the clutch done, my the father in law says that if oils on the clutch which is another sympton then theres a chance my seals are going or something and this is very expensive and i should get rid of the car..

Please advise. i dont know what to do for the best now.

TIA

probably not as much load as when you try to accelerate at high speed but yep sounds like its on its way out.

I have the same problem with mine. when you are in say 3rd and you floor it. it sound like its flying but there is no speed increase you have to wait about 6 sec's and then it moves. could this the clutch slipping.
