Remember, it wouldn't cost much to put a stero in their because it has all the wires in place ( I think) and scoobs are never going to be good on fuel so I wouldn't worry about that.

The only downside is the price which is a bit of a shame. I don't know if the spec-c's are much slower or not, wouldn't have thought so.

Correct. Uses a 2.5 litre block. See the latest edition of Evo for opinions... Not a limited edition though, as Iain will build you one to order.

Nor is the Spec C a ltd ed.....

so let me think,
litchfield imports these cars (poss jap ones)
rips off the stereo and mod the engine and bits up.

how much would it costs for us to build a car to that spec?

it shouldn't be too late b4 other companies think of the same idea.

why bother when it's already done for you with a warranty? Some would argue it's not a bullet-proof one like IM, but your only option there is a WR1.

Take a japanese spec MY05, convert to a 2.5 US block, change suspension, change wheels & tyres, change spolier, add front lip spoiler, change zorst and get it remapped.

Biggest expense would be conversion and mapping.

Can't think of any other companies with as good a reputation as Iain's that I'd want to import a new car from and have them mod it to bits.

For insurance, I'd pop over to the insurance forum and put post up for Rum* (Tom) I think he'd be able to sort something out, but don't quote me on that.

Most insurance companies I rang knew what a Type 25 was and so wasn't a issue, the best quote I got was £940.

I think Litchfieds have a list of insurers who know what the car is, if you're worried about spending 2-3 days on the phone getting quotes.

The T25 looks like any other Japanese-spec STI, that's why you can't find any!

There are optional front and rear carbon spoilers, but apart from that there's just nothing to see unless you count the badge on the back.
