Default oil filter part no change

subaru have found the need to change the part no. again for oil filters so instead of the 080 it goes over to 100. also if we find an 05my car that has a 100 on we can't put the 080 type on. dont know why they never gave a reason but there must be a slight change in something

Could be a change in the filter media that is inside the cartridge to give better filtration ? Or they've changed to another supplier who is cheaper for the same level of performance ?

Did an oil change last week and the small black ones are now std issue, my sti was delivered with a blue larger filter but the larger and smaller ones are interchangable.

bet its exactly the same filter i get from my local motor factors, but with subaru printed on the side instead on "comline".

Unless subaru really do have a factory set up to make their own oil filters!
