Just filled a full tank of BP Super, will clock how many miles i get from that and then as soon as its re-fill time, i will try the Esso stuff.
Be interesting to see what MPG difference is and if the car performs any different, also worth comparing the price aswell.

It would appear that all Esso have done is re-badged their SUL to "Supreme"

It seems to be little more than a marketing exercise to "keep up with the Jones's" nextdoor at Shell, and justifying the extortionate price.

My car seems to like it better than SLoptimax though

203 miles to a tank full of texaco super (first tank full ) 9.1 gallons = 22.3 mpg with quite a bit of playtime in that as well

Not too many Shell garages round me so I usually use Esso SUL (Supreme) or what ever.
I filled up with Optimax the other week and did notice a lack of edge to the acceleration (STI 04 Type UK with PPP) my previous car STI with Scooby sports mods seemed the same. Optimax also seems a bit cheaper but Esso is for me.

By the way has any body else noticed the rear drivers side window when the cars steamed up.
You can see the shipping label when it was delivered into the UK mine says Newcastle on it like it's etched into the glass.

Texaco's is refinery is in Roscrowther (Milford Haven is the expanse of land and sea.), BP's is in Sulen Voe up in Shetlands. Don't they all go to the same distibution points though, cos Sainsburys use Shell and I've forgotten who supply Tesco, think its Texaco.

Oh my god here we go.. the great "it feels much better now" thread. Happens everytime a new fuel is used....

So let me pre-guess the rest of this thread.... some of you will report

"Its MUCH better than Optimax"

"I get much less DET"

"My MPG has improved"

"I can feel the extra power"

"My car loves it"

"Its rubbish - i get the full christmas tree on FOT"

"Its ****"

"Nah - use BP Ultimate"

"Nah - Optimax rules dude"

"Nah - ive been to XXXX who says his cars run much better with it"

"I get and extra 5 deg using it"

"Fxxx you ******* your a chump"

"You dont know **** ****"

And then some Braniac will post about how his mate is a chemist and he's tested it and its WAY below/above the norm.

Then we'll get into a MON v RON debate.... which will last a few pages - with some muppet searching for old posts to back up his guestimates....

Then PSLEWIS will tell you your all mad and that he uses Sainsbury's SUL...

Then it'll fall back into "**** you *******" type stuff before the whole thread gets closed

and so on....

Lets see if im right...

Ahhhh some wise words from Jza....just give it up everyone, i'm sure they are all much of a muchness....personally, my fuel filler cap indicates that my scoob must only be run on 98 RON....which means it has to be Optimax, that's the only reason i use it over the others
