Sullom Voe is just a Terminal though now, sending out and processing crude from offshore onto the refinerys I thought.

BP's petrol setup afk is through Grangemouth and Coryton down south, which then both sell and handle to other brands for uk service stations.

Back on topic though, optimax as long as its not been left unused for a while.....!

Now I've ALWAYS believed there is no noticable performance difference between brands of SUL although I've always tried to use Optimax when possible.

My previous car (Clio 172) ran equally well on various SUL, addmittedly with Octaine Boost.

However...., since having my 05 WRX I've used Optimax exclusively until last Thursday night when I was getting VERY low (2 local Shell garages shut at 9pm!!) and had to use BP Ultimate. No problem, I thought, I'll just add the usual OB and thought nothing of it.

Now as I've said I had no preconseptions of one SUL being better than the other BUT what a difference!!!!!

After not using the car myself all Friday I got in today to go to Ikea and after about 10 mile I thought car feels a bit flat so started to give it some and it's like a different car! The urge seems to have gone, spoolup is ~1k later and I'm convinced it's the fuel, It has to be!!

I'll give anything the benefit of the doubt but it's Optimax from now on! (might try Esso sul at some point but defo not BP)!!!!

Jason

PS I'm not the easily let type!!

My car always does feel a bit 'sharper' on Esso SUL, haven't tried 'supreme' yet, but surely it's just renamed SUL?

I used to travel a round trip 16 miles every week for optimax, but for the last three weeks been filling up at local Esso, what a difference!!!! not one iota, exactly the same! only used optimax because of the claims of cleaning the engine and esso are now claiming the same, so i think ill stick with Esso.
