Question 18`s Tyre size query

I currently have 18 inch wheels fitted with 215/35/18

will i be able to use 225/45/18 tyres instead or will i have rubbing problem.

MY95 Wrx 4dr (standard ride-height)

Thanks
Paul

I run 215/35/18 on my classic 4 door but mine is lowered. I'd personally stick to the size you already use cos I'm sure I've heard people say they'll rub the arches using 225/45/18. I know I had that problem when I had my last P1 mate.

I have 225/35/18 Yoko Avs's on my classic lowered 35mm on Eibach springs & I had to roll the rear arches to stop the rubbing. I personally think it's worth the hassle of rolling the arches to get the better size tyre on (I've heard of a 225/18 Pirelli fitting without a problem but obviously the offset of the wheel also plays a part in all of this).

I would imagine if you haven't lowered the car you'd be ok most of the time except for when you have rear passengers or go over those delightful speed bumps.

225/40/18 P Zero's on my STi 3 - rear strut spring caps needed minor fettling to cure rubbing. Fitted with Bilsteins and Eibachs.

If this helps, Subaru reccomend 225/35/18 & 215/40/17 on the classic
225/40/18 & 215/45/17 on he new age, and thats it.
