5 Very Good Years
Last week I sold my 02 Sti PPP and will replace it shortly with a real leather armchair powered diesel with all the trimmings including 3-speed bottom warmer for winter!
I have owned two scoobies from new - a 00 Classic Turbo 2000 - a wonderful car which was both simple to drive and very fast. The Sti has been fantastic as well and has really impressive acceleration especially with the PPP.
I will miss the sheer raw power and handling of the Sti - best point and squirt overtaker I have ever been in and in terms of bang per buck these cars are quite simply unequalled.
I will never regret having had the scooby experience - more to the point if you have not had one in my opinion you have really missed out. I now look forward to saving over £250 per month net (insurance, fuel etc.) and to having lots of great memories of driving a truly 'classic' pair of cars.
So this is probably (almost) my last interaction with the community. The site has been very useful for tips about lights, tyre choices, PPP and the re-geometry + Prodrive springs which transformed the handling of the Sti.
Many thanks everybody!

The new car is a Honda Accord which handles very nicely when the VSA is switched off, with it on it does odder things near the limit than the LSD on the scooby. It is a very well designed car and does > 50 mpg but still has an acceptable performance.
As time passes I may well add another high performance acr to the stable.
