Cool Is your scooby driving better in the cold...

Has anyone noticed the performance in their scooby... maybe its just me... but I feel that with these cold sunny mornings, the scooby is driving much better...

Its hard to describe the difference but it seems quicker... or was I late for work again...

I thought it was down to the cooler denser air aiding better fuel atomization.

This is why it is important to ensure your car is breathing air at ambient temperature, throughout the year and not hot engine bay air through a cone filter.

The big difference is when it's foggy. Problem then is you can't use the extra go because of the weather conditions. That is unless you drive like some of the ***** that I see on the M4 when there's bugger all visibilty.

Cooler air is denser, and the denser the air/fuel mixture the bigger the 'explosion' when it's burned & the more power the engine produces......which is why Subaru's decision to stick the intercooler right on top of a nice hot engine always struck me as a bit daft.

I was gona mention that incase people think were talking about setting off on a cold engine without warming it up.

The fastest my blob eye has felt was during a torrential downpour...what's the reasoning behind that, then?

Higher combustable oxygen content, denser charge, more explosive potential..

My seems to be worse, My boost is tailing off out at high rpm. Car is equally as quick, but certainly no quicker.

Will go investigating what's causing it to hold back later in the week (except the TD04 )
