Question WRX SL / MY05

After 2 years of Mercedes ownership I am thinking of coming back to a scoob...

Is the WRX SL advertised on Subarus UK's website an end of MY04 special or will it be available in a MY05 for similar money??

Also are Subaru dealers discounting at the moment, I will be going in with cash..

Finally what is the dealer fit Sat Nav like? is it worth buying an aftermarket unit and fitting it myself?

Cheers

Thumbs up

The best Sat NAV, IMHO, is the Pioneer AVIC X-1 the price ranges from £1.5K to £2.5 depending where you buy from if you can fit a Stereo, you can fit one of these Fitting/install price shouldn't be any more than a STD head unit and Multichanger. It does vehicle dynamics as well, you can also add on reversing cam etc etc

Tony

Ps don't get a Avic N-1 off ebay Pioneer say it won't work here in UK

It seems there's only MY05 left now for all Imprezas, though there's very little difference between MY04 and MY05.

If you want to pm me I'll let you know how my order is going with www.tins.co.uk (have just paid deposit, "3-4" weeks delivery).

Picked up a MY05 4-Door WRX SL on Saturday :-))) It's as advertised on the website, although steering wheel is Subaru badged, not Momo.

Got sod-all discount although I didn't go in with cash. Not sure it'll make much difference, though, never felt under any pressure to buy. Guess they pretty much sell themselves!

Only managed 300 miles so far but pretty happy with it (although keeping it at under 4K revs is frustrating!). Only thing I go to do now is decide whether to get it PPP'd at the 1000 mile service or not.

Ordered my WRX SL 5-door before they had even announced the MY05 and the fact that it was in a a colour they had not had confirmed and saved £1850 off retail. Local dealer said max was £750 so went 200 miles away and got it delivered on the back of a truck for free as well.

In regards Sat-nav, it's not factory fit so why go through dealer when you know you could get cheaper at a professional place and probably better? Subaru sells cars, not sat-nav!
Personall,y disagree there is not much difference between 04 and 05. 05 feels tighter, and those red calipers must add at least 20bhp without a doubt!

PPP has yet to be confirmed by dealers for MY05 but it is (apparently) slightly different to MY04 but no idea what. Being ordered today!

I picked up my 05 WRX SL earlier this week...the dealer had an unalocated one in black so I PX'd my 03 STi PPP against it (high mileage, big expense )...having the PPP fitted at the 1000 mile service, probably end of next week.

Very impressed with it..
