DERBY SCOOBS BE AWARE !
GOING TO WORK THIS MORNING ALONG OSMASTON RD .I NOTICED 2 POLICE BIKES 2 CARS HANGING AROUND .A BIT FURTHER I NOTICED A SILVER OMEGA ESTATE PARKED ON THE PAVEMENT. LOOKED A BIT CLOSER THERE WAS A OFFICER LOOKING AT A MONITOR I PURSUME THEY WHERE AFTER CARS SPEEDING .JEEZ IF THIS IS THE CASE CANT THEY FIND SOMETHING BETTER BESIDES HIDING IN OMEGA ESTATES .SPEED VANS ARE BAD ENOUGH AT LEAST ONLY ONE PERSON IS TRYING TO CATCH SPEEDERS.

They're ALWAYS down Ozzy Rd mate - it's a bloody nightmare going down there at the best of times... and the number of times you see the speedtraps is just nuts.
If you tune in to RAM FM in the morning they tell you where that days speed traps are going to be anyway.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition.
They have a car with the ANPR system in it (often a traffic car or an unmarked car).
They then have 3 or 4 bikes in radio contact with the car so when a bandit vehicle is Id'd they radio the bikes and they will go after the car.
Its most often for no tax, insurance or banned drivers. But there are sometimes wanted criminals or people who are upto other nasty things.
ANPR is a good system and we should all support it.

Note to Police: get out and catch some burglars, rapists, thugs, thieves, murderers, in fact, any law breaker who DOESN'T net you some revenue, you wasters!

I'd have them out every day, on all the major routes into city centres.
I'd rather have them than speed cameras.
