whats the difference beteen a uk and a jap version 7 and is it true that japs are 300BHP

They are rumoured to be around that figure but there was a gentlemans agreement of 280ps 276bhp for any technical specs. Thats on Japanese 100RON fuel though, get it properly remapped to run uk fuel though and should see 300+ no problem.

other differences, no UK Subaru warranty, may not be undersealed, no tracker or alarm.

Probably loads of little bits and pieces like air bags, seats, dash, stereo etc as well

I dont know what the jap spec is. I can tell you i have a type uk version7 that hasnt got ppp. The only mod on it is a full de-cat and at a recent rolling road day the figures were as follows 328bhp and 285lbs torque. Although it does need mapping as it has a major boost spike these aint bad figures.
