Black, silver, grey, blue, white, red?

Black, silver, grey, blue, white, red?
Have managed to narrow my choice down to metallic black or the new crystal grey for a new 4-door WRX.
Anyone have any thoughts about car colour in general (resale value, visibility, etc)?
As far as I can tell black looks well sexy but hints of drug-dealer BMW, gets hot in the summer (is this true?) and shows dirt/scrapes more. Silver is more visible, "classy" (apparently) but rather common nowadays (loads of crap little silver cars on the roads). The blue only works for STIs, red and white are out but that's just my opinion.
What do you think?

Subaru have dropped the nice dark blue for the WRX range so there's only the STi light blue which I don't think looks right on a WRX.
If anyone's got a black scoob then what do you think? Would you get another one?

After having had three black cars in a row, all I'll say is that they do look great when clean, but don't stay clean for very long and require a lot of work.
I went for a silver WRX because I'm lazy and don't like cleaning the car often.

My brother picked up a MY05 WRX yesterday in mica blue and it looks great! It is the most common colour but that's obviously because everyone prefers it. There were black and silver cars at the same place which didn't look half as nice.
Get the colour that you like though, it's all down to personal preference.

I had a black Audi and that didn't show up nearly as much dirt as i thought it would. It was no hotter in the summer either. The only reason my first Scoob wasn't in black was just that i fancied a change after the Audi so i went for silver.
Having said that the grey looks good in the pictures although i've not seen one close up yet.

i'm looking to get a 02 wrx, an am going for a WRblue one,
at first i was set on gettin a black one but when i was chatting to the dealer in kent he was saying that the actual black paint is softer then the other colour paint, so thats the main reason it chips very easily.
black is well smart an if i found one at the right price i will probally get it but WR blue is first choice.
silver is far too common, but that new grey looks stunning!!

Easy:
black, then white, then red, blue and lastly grey, silver etc....
Black is "grumpy" as a friend once said to me and is understated confidence(..and you need as much heat as you can get in the UK), White looks cool and clean, red is overstated, but looks great, provided engine is worthy, blue is "Subaru" (only good if 22B, or top top STi (or a V-spec skyline)) and the rest is boring.

Mate, I know exactly what you are going through.
Did the same colour elimination myself. Obviously WR Blue looks the best, its your traditional colour - but its also a little MG/Rover look-at-me (flamesuit) as the wife and I felt.
The white looks amazing - if you happen to live in Japan ('tis their most favourite colour of all).
Silver, mmm... every man and his dog likes silver cars and they even have the audacity to call it 'premium' - oh dear.
The red costs nothing, and is very rare. I see one almost every morning and the owner keeps it pristine - but I'm changing from a red/white MINI so its not for me.
The 'new' silver looks very very nice, but in the end I went for black.
Most stealthy, menacing and ok, maybe the hardest work - but hey, I'm getting my first ever scoob so I'm bound to be out cleaning it every week anyway! In for a penny I say!
Haven't even collected the car and just got my first ever mod too, a 4,000 mile WR Sport oval backbox. Friday can't come soon enough for me!

I've got a black 03 Sti. I'm not keen on the gold wheels generally and I think they look naff on the black scoob. I got the dealer to have them recoated in gun metal and it makes the scoob look pretty evil. Yes black does show the dirt but if you're washing the car weekly it's not such a big deal. My brother's got a WRX Wagon in black and that looks classy too.

I had a black EVO6 and have just changed to the new grey 05 STI..I prefer it as black is an absolute nightmare, as soon as its clean the dust settles and it look dirty. My new car is 4 weeks old and Ive only washed it twice as it still looks clean!
Black looks really dirty when it isnt actually that bad compared to other colours.Does look the best when its spotless though!
Your choice!

Just swapped 03 WRX in green!! (thought it was understated) for 05 STI in black.
As a kid any cool car was black. I think the combination of black with gold wheels is fab JPS Lotus F1 car anyone?
On a separate note, anyone found the new STI tyres a little slippy?

Thanks for all your replies. It seems, overall that both silver and black are cool choices, silver is sensible, and black is a bit of a hassle but looks great. It's a choice between head and heart and of course heart wins. Black it is!
