That race with the grey STI5 and the Black Escort Cosworth was a complete farce!!
The Escort was Mark Sheads from MADevelopments, and was running circa 500Bhp
and the STI was Darren Soothills, running around 310Bhp!!
If you listen you can hear the escort dumpvalve go off as it nears the finish line, as they backed off the throttle before the end!!
IMHO the Escort would've wiped the floor with the STI on that short course!.
I know this might seem like I'm a saddo, but ever since I watched that vid, it has bothered me, and I'm glad some others might agree!

Pickle: Yeah, that didn't exactly seem like a fair match:a VERY extensively modded Cossie vs a pretty standard STi V5. I think the Cossie would have won in a straight line, but I'd believe that the STi would be better around the corners. The Cossie seeemed to wash out wide with significant understeer and then suddenly snap into oversteer...not good for setting a good pace. However, it could have just been Jezza's driving. ;-)
Seemed like an appropriate conclusion though: both great cars! Not surprising that Jezza slightly preferred the Cossie; he used to have one and it was very much the performance car of his generation! I've not yet had a go of a Cossie, but would very much like to!
Best.
