Angry How long to get parts using the Royal Mail?

Have paid for some parts ages ago off a fellow Scooby nut, cheque cashed (quickly) and parts posted to me a week later I'm told after a 'prod'.
Now two weeks later, no parts.
No response from pm to the seller.

Before I take action, anyone know what is a reasonable time to wait for a parcel (4 injectors and a Walbro) posted the cheapest way?

Do you have the tracking number from the seller, if not ask him for the consignment number.

Thanks everyone!
I've looked 'back# into the sellers old posts, and someone else in August of this year had the same problem with him.
I will flood him with emails, just that I wouldn't do this kind of thing to anyone. A deal is done and that's that, things should be fair and dealt with.
Maybe I'm just an old bast!rd with olde world values....
Don't expect this kind of thing in this 'community'

I've lost numerous items in the post - both sending and receiving.

The worst spate I had was about 9 out of 12 DVDs ordered from play.com. I know that they sent them, and I had to sign for them. They just went missing.

If it's in a jiffy bag, then it's wise to send it recorded/special (or ask them to send it recorded/special).

911,
name and shame many people are taken on trust with deals on here and it only takes one bad apple to ruin it for others, saves other people getting caught out.

Thanks for the support everyone.
I have sent him email, and had it returned..unknown etc
He has 'previous' delayed/slow/I've the $$$$ and that's that.
Just done a search and there it is. I've contacted the person who fell victim and asked if it has sorted itself out. Awaiting reply.

£350 is no joke, breaks the 'spirit' of it all doesn't it.

I presume I have no recourse at all legally, GPO/person involved. Maybe he has sold these parts to several others, and we are all in it!

I am trying to keep the benefit of the doubt....but it's hard to now.

He comes from Glasgow so maybe the post is very bad there?

If no response soon I will Name and Shame for sure. I'm in the right!

Sorry to hear this mate

£350 is alot of money,I would be screwing if it was £35

Whether youere old or young, there should be certain morals that people stick to.

I hope this gets sorted out soon,it does worry me sometimes paying for something over the phone/net.

With a reputable company there isnt a worry as you have legal rights, but Im not sure how it works with a private person.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on the matter.

Realy is a shame to have this sort of thing happening in the community.

911, I do beleive its the same ar£e`ole I delt with. Others have had trouble with him in the past, I should`ve known better than to buy off him but thought `it`ll not happen to me`. How wrong could I be.

You have PM shortly on the subject.

Neil.

Working for a transport industry where one off consignments are carried, there are cases where the freight is "lost" or "taken on a tour". Get the consignment/tracking number if it has been sent and pester the customer services people.

On a moderator point of view, do not name and shame. Hope this gets sorted quickly.

Why not? If this is the person I think it is this then type of thing seems to happen with everything he sells to people.

If the person is named then it will turn into a witch hunt, slanging match. This will result in the thread being closed or deleted.

I am sure the person will be aware of the situation, if they want to step forward then fair enough, otherwise this should be kept as it is.

I've got a similar problem with something I've paid for and not received.

I paid straight away, as the quote was something like "first £15 gets it"....I know it's only £15, but it's the principle!!

I work away and did have to mess about a bit with delivery dates, but I was told this was no problem at all.

No replies to my e-mails and I can't remember his username on here.

Done a search through the threads and can't find where I got the item.

My own fault for not keeping better records I suppose.

Maybe "Chris" will read this and send me a PM, or send the item.

Cheers,

Marty
