Scooby Mag ideas
I've just sent off my subscription to Scooby Mag.
Seeing as the editor reads this BBS, perhaps we could suggest some future articles we'd like to see.
How about some properly measured performance comparisons between a standard scooby and other cars that people claim are just as quick. For instance a bugeye WRX and a RenaultSport Clio 182?

Hi all,
Got myself a copy of the first edition- very impressed.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I know next to nothing about the way my scooby works and would really like an "idiots" guide or two! :-) I'd like to see some features about the car's mechanicals, how they work, how you can modify them, owners experiences of related modifications etc... That would be really interesting.
Really liked the kind of "buyer's guide" approach to GPS camera locators and would like to see more of them for other things: Brakes, tyres, exhausts. Also liked the features on owners and their cars.
Personally, I'm not particularly interested in features that compare std scooby performance with hot hatches etc... Much of this talk is redundant: outright performance is only one of the reasons why people buy scoobies, straight line speed is only one facet of a car's performance and the 0-60 dash is largely meaningless in the real world, handling tests place driver skill and familiarity with the car at the forefront. Also many people have modified their cars and would say, "ah. but what about x, y and z" Just my 2 cents.
Best.

problem solving - window faults, etc (how to fix)
upgrades - dump valves, exhausts, etc (do they really work)
cosmetics - spoilers, etc (how well do they fit)
bit fed up with all the blonde bimbos in flax power, etc so don't put them in - now brunettes, thats another thing :-)

I have also just taken out a subscription to this new Scooby mag, and hopefully it will get better and better....
One thing I would also like to see in the mag is a simple idiot's guide to releasing the strangled power in the scooby motor, particularly the newer scoobys, that are heavier and so need it more!!
Perhaps a plan of action, you know the sort of thing... do this first then that etc.etc. with actual results shown, with possibly peoples cars tested that have had the mods done.

However, we would prefer ideas emailed directly to us. Believe it or not, I have over 150 forums that I visit regularly with several different aliases and occasionally I miss posts which are of interest to me.
We can't really comment on the boards, but most suggestions we've seen here and in other places are already planned, amongst other articles you haven't seen in magazines before

What about a section on 'i look like my car' i know it may sound daft but some people actually do look like their cars
But most importantly a section on 'how chaved up are you?'
Just a thought

If you have any stories about your Scooby that you would like featured please send them to us as we want to make this mag as much for you (the readers) as we can.
We would also like to feature more of your cars. If you have good quality high res photos email them to us (along with information about the car) and we'll try to get your ride featured. This is for all the Subaru range, not just the Impreza
Also, does anyone know of any up and coming Rally drivers? please email details of this to us.
All mail regarding these should be sent to info@scoobymagazine.com
Many thanks
Dee

I know my car would not get a feature due to the fact I havent done anything special/or spent silly money on her. However I do love my car and it would be great to sneak into a pic or 2. How about popping along to this?
