Unhappy

My son,s friend has dropped his bike on the front wing of my pride and joy.
Might have to have a new nsf wing, does anyone know the cost of replacment[part only] plus do these front wings bolt on without any welding etc.

Sam,

Sorry to hear this, but one feels you may want to ask the little darling's father!!

I know I would.

Alternatively, take his bike and sell it, so you can put the cost towards the easy £300 that it will cost you for a new wing.

As an added precaution, I would also sue the family for distress and loss.

Harsh, but fair I feel.

CB,
P.S. I trust your son is grounded for a month and is selling his bike so he can contribute. After all, he did invite the friend around in the first place which caused this terrible event to happen.
Most families with children near my house have moved away after I had my dust caps nicked of my STI (they found there way onto two BMX's).

CB1,

Thanks for reply,
Im still in state of shock,I was sitting in my front room watching some golf when i heard the bang, rushed outside looked at my scooby then the Brat then back at the car in disbelief.
Told the kid to get lost, best course of action at the time, felt i would have killed him if he had stayed only longer.

Have to contemplate the best course of action perhaps a visit to the parents would be order when i cool off!

Sam, sorry to hear about your incident. Its a pain in the **** when you take care of your motor, cleaning it with a toothbrush and keeping it in perfect order and some little sod comes along and does unspeackable damage to it. Its enough to drive you up the wall. Im getting mad writting this so i'll stop now.
Ok then i won't. Sam make sure you see the childs parents and get them to pay for the damage, then take his bike, buckle the wheels, snap the break cables and run a sander up the side of his sadle and see how he feels I know it can't compare to your damage but it will make you feel alot better.

Regards
Scrappy

Cool

Is fender a wing or a bumper?????....IM prob are ripping us off. The labour and paint alone here would be 100 quid...let alone the cost of parts. I was horrified to find out that the black plastic side skirts work out at 200 quid A SIDE!!!!

CHILL!, count to ten

accidents happen

after all the car is a chunk of metal.

it would, i suppose, be fair for the childs parents to pay for the damage. But maybe the "brat" is a decent kid and has been remorseful - and just too damned scared to tell his parents about what has happened. think of the consequences for the kid. are the childs parents in a position to pay for the damage? after all they are not liable in a court of law.

A wise friend once told me:

"it aint worth worrying about if it isn't going to effect your life in two years"
invaluable advice.

i too have been infuriated by ignorant people bashing their car doors onto my pride and joy in car parks, but, it isn't going to change my life.

Had a few days to get over what happened at the weekend and have decided not to go to the parents,i dont think its worth the hassle.

My wrx was already booked in at the body shop to have a sti 5 spoiler fitted, so they can sort out the damage at the same time.

Still makes me feel sick when i look at my scooby though.

Sam.

Talking

Sunilp

Front fender = front wing. ie the bit that goes from the front light to the front of the door

Not to be confused with the wing which is of course a spoiler..
