Question Warranty Confusion

Could somebody please explain Subaru's warranty to me. I'm looking for a late model 99/00 classic and see that some still have warranty on them. I've done a search and see that you can extend the standard warrany but question is how long can you do this for and can you take a warranty out if it hadn't been initially extended (if u see what I'm getting at)
9 or 10k is a lot of wedge for me so ideally I'll be wanting a warranty with the car so any info you can give me would be appreciated

Cheers

You can get the extended warranty if its lapsed but its considerably more expensive than if you keep renewing it. Also I'm pretty sure you can't extend if its done over 60,000 miles.

Some warranty packages from Subaru will take the car to 100,000 miles.

The warranty may well do, the engine might have something to say about that

NB it does depend how hard its been driven, thrashed, abused etc....

It can be extended to 6 years/100000miles in two stages from the original 3 year warranty. i.e. 3year original + 2 year extended + 1 year extended. Cost is dependant on whether you want the 60000 or 100000mile warranty.
