Does anyone own/have any comments on the Bel Vector Long Range Radar detector? Is it better than the Bel 990? They both seem to be about £299, but I can't decide which one to buy.

Cheers

Rob

Thumbs up

I have had the VLR for a while and have nothing bad to say about it.

Excellent range on Gatso's and has some good features. Well worth it.

Cheers,

Jon.

I've got one and a Valentine. It's not a patch on the UK tuned Valentine model. Shop around a bit to get a Valentine for nearly the same price - it's definately worth it !

The Vector LR is the top Bel model from '99, the 980 & 990 are '00 models. BTW EVO rates the 980 as equivelent to Valentine and 990 silghtly superior in performance but substantially cheaper...... 400 vs 500 quid.

Robin L: any recommendations on places to find a V1 for nearer $399 than £599?

Cheers

Lee.

Robb,

You actually bought one, you are committed, when are we going out to try it out?.

Things must be a bit quiet at work then...

I own a bel radar, cant think what model but its not the top one, it cost about £175 and I dont rate it, as you approach a live gatso it goes off when youre virtually on it, how do the others rate? with a gatso facing away from you, how good a warning do you get?

Cool

Erm, i very much doubt that there IS SUCH thing as a GENUINE "UK tuned" Valentine. All Radarexpress.com do is disable X band and increase the sensitivity to "high" of the Ka bands. How to do this is given for FREE on the US site for Valentine electronics for us non UK TUNED V1 owners!!!
