Strange Scooby in Cyprus!
Just come back from Limassol, Cyprus, and saw and chatted to the owner of what seemed to me a 'strange' Scooby! It was a WR blue STi, with Brembo's clearly visible, it had the latest front, like 2003 onwards, but it had bugeye rear lights, (it didn't have the round red bit in the rear lights), it also had the tacho on the right rather than the middle, and it had a black Momo steering wheel like the bugeye's! It also had Bridgestone RE 070's tyres. What do you think?

Maybe he's converted the bugeye front end to a blobeye, it wouldn't be cheap but it is possible. I suppose it could have a frontal at some point, and had it converted then.

It was a Jap import. Cyprus version is the same as EEC spec, which is identical to UK and Mainland Europe. Before Cyprus joined the EEC, their Subaru Main dealers sold Jap imports officially! Yes, probably had a frontal.

Most probably a new frontend grafted onto a bugeye. It really wouldn't be that expensive cos there are a lot of 'cut heads' available from Japan (i.e. the whole frontend forward of the A-pillar is cut off from cars that suffered rear damage), their most expensive parts tend to be the engine & it's ancillaries, so the panels can often be bought very cheaply.
