Default Swap Your Scooby

Ive noticed a lot of scooby owners often commenting on fast cars such as Ferrari, Lambo, Aston so i was wondering do you all genuinely love your scoobys or is it because they are the poor mans ferrari in terms of performance you stick to them? We have a STi version 6 imported from the land of BHP and we have done it up as a P1 and i love it to bits - you can slam a scooby in a corner or rally it hard because at the end of the day it only cost 15 to 20k? but imagine smacking a Gallardo about which costs 100 to 120k you wouldnt would ya?

I dont like the new scoobys, the bug eyed or the new as much as the classic, the classic has that mean grumpy "im about to whoop yo ***" look which just looks so damn evil. The new 1 handles well but all round package id take the classic anyday.

So my Q is A) Would you ever trade in your scooby and B) if not why not and what model do you have that makes it oh so irresistable?

yes yr r8 about chucking the scooby around because it is relatively cheap compare to a 996 turbo ,ferrari or a Lambo
I had ago of my friend's 996 turbo and was scare to death of scrathing it ...02 model £75K !
plus there are soooooooo heavy to drive compare to my car (P1.... 350bhp ) was thinking of changing to a M3 0r 966 C4 but then I would have to spend 20K plus for the same performance , decided there is no logic in that so gonna mods it further instead

I can see why people won't use a car properly if it costs a lot of money. At the end of the day it'll be insured if the worse happens. I wasn't worried when i was driving the family Bentley round a few weeks ago and that's worth a fair bit more than a Gallardo.

I wouldn't mind an Audi RS6 Avant when they drop in price a little. Nice set of tuning options available also.

I have had a lotus,That i rebuilt and put cosworth cams along with other mods..That was very wick...Also owned 3 -911 porsches,Along with some other cars that i thought was rapid...BUT...I can honestly say that i was wrong, the WRX STI type RA Classic-That i currently own..Would obliterate them all in every department and some....and I LOVE IT.....Kev.

p.s ....The porsche 911-engine is something else in longevity though....Go forever.....

a) Have traded my MY99 wagon for an MY04 WRX wagon... not as bullet like and a bit wobbly, but a much better family car Would trade again for an RS6 estate

b) WRX is not the most irresistable car out there, but I'm happy with it at the moment minus a few gearbox niggles........ now where's that modding website gone?

My SCooby is in the garage at the moment for an engine rebuild and all the lads in the pub keep telling me to get rid of it, no-one has come up with a valid alternative though!
I'll be keeping my Scooby, for what I paid there's nothing near it, i'd have to spend massive money to get somthing better such as 911 turbo or similar
my opinion anyway

Tradded in my new MY00 (Classic) after 1.5 years to achieve my childhood dream of owning a Porsche 911 (993) and never regretted it for one bit (and not that you'd be likely to as the Porker was a better car in most respects, given it cost over twice the price of the Scooby). Then bought another, newer 993, which has just been sold due to new baby arriving and missus giving up work, so now have a MY05 on order (5 door this time as well) to accommodate. Are their better cars than Scooby's - of course. But it all depends on what you are willing to pay, and this is one of the best for the price.
