Smile $$$Servicing Costs$$$

Soon my 01wrx PPP needs its 45K service. The guy at the local dealership says it needs service every 5k because it has PPP, is this true?

The 45k service includes a cambelt change any ideas on how much $$$$$$ its gonna cost me?

Regards

Nope absolute bollocks.

All My01 and onwards are 10000 mile services. This was announced and backdated by IM about 10 months after the My01 was released.

When they say things like this, just ask them to put it in writing there and then. They soon check their facts that way!! 'ooh, just checked our systems sir, seems like it is 10,000 after all'

DoMJoLLy,

have a look in your glovebox, and try to find somethings called the "Service and Warranties Booklet".

If your MY01 copy suggests servicing every 7,500 miles, then it has obviously not been replaced by the current 10K interval one - so ask your dealer for a replacement.

If your dealer says that PPP requires a 5K service interval, then change dealer and report them.

If you are a troll, then try to be a bit smarter with your wind-ups

Just had a look at the service and warranties booklet and its every 7,500 like you said, and the camshaft drivebelt is to be changed at 60k in the inspection listings but where the dealer stamps the next service box i.e 45,000 miles it says "includes cambelt".

6 * 10000 = 60000 miles
6 * 7500 = 45000 miles

i.e. they change cambelt on 6th service?????

PPP makes no difference to service intervals on the sti, around 7500 - 10000 miles as normal.

Yep, the only Scooby I'm aware of that has service intervals changed by PPP is the WR1 - which has intermediate oil changes at 5k, 15k, 25k, etc.

Which dealership is it giving out this bullsh1t? I think they need outing!
