Not sure if that would work.

I wouldnt try thinners as it will dull the paintwork, and it will probably make more work trying to polish it out again.

A heat gun (or a hair dryer I suppose) is the best thing, but once again care is needed to not damage the paintwork/plastics by holding it in one place.

A right b4stard of a job I have to agrea.

Ive tried petrol,wd40,polish,spit.......even thought of ***king on it.

A little comes off at a time,but without burning/heating it,not much happens.

Boiling water does help you get 1mm off every minute.

I tried a lot of things to get them off my car - bloody nightmare!!!

In the end, I got a local bodyshop to take them off... better than ruining your paintwork.

The Autoglym Tar Remover didn't work for me... didn't remove anything!
