Thumbs up

Ta guys, normally I'd expect the renewal to go up, and thus resort to shopping around, usually I'd eventually get a quote comparable with last year.

Cheers

Have to say that I mas amazed when my premium actualy went down this year. Ok it;s still 1600 quid but then I do have 11 points and as many of you know my car is far from standard.

Red face

Hi all,

Anybody else suffered from the insurance companies recovering their £2bn losses over the last few years by hiking up current premiums?

Mine's gone up from £900 to £1084, on an STi, age 34 with 4yrs NCB no accidents no claims no convictions.

Thats with Bradford and Pennine thru' Adrian Flux

Cheers
Disgruntled H

Question

Dave Thornton,

Best quote I could get on an STI 6 in London was £2500, hence no purchase and UK Turbo for me (still steep at £1100.)

I live in E11, car on drive , insured in wife's name, 28 year old, 5yrs NCB +no claims / convictions. Me 30, no convictions, 1 claim (£180) on company car for theft of spare wheel.

I wore my phone out ringing around, all quotes being really high!

Anyone out there insuring Sti/Wrx in East London / Essex borders. What is your experience.

A friend of mine works in an insurance brokers and he told me a couple of months ago that all the prices were starting to go up. Not looking forward to my renewal in August

Talking

Hey Roshambo et all,

My insurance renewal on my STi3, (details above) was £120 / mnth for 10 mnths direct debit, ie. £1200 which is about £250 more than last year.

I followed Roshambo's link above and started to phone around using the list from the website of recommended Jap Import car insurance co.'s.

I was n't having much luck although A-Plan managed at £995, with £500 xs, the worst was Privelidge at £1600 (jeepers!!!)

Last on the list for me to try before I resigned myself to forking out a Grand with A-Plan was Footman James and Co.

Within seconds of providing my details to the guy on the other end of the phone he came back with a quote which just about blew me off the chair and 50yards down the office.

£488.95!!!!!!!!!!! Fully comp with £200xs, Suburb of Manchester parked on private driveway.

Cheers again RoSHambo for the link

Gobsmacked Howie
