Thumbs up

Had my car serviced yesterday at Mill Lane Basingstoke. Very nice and friendly people. Cost £95. Highly recommend them! But ask them not to wash your car though if you are used to high standards (e.g. WW, etc).

What surprised me though (perhaps someone can explain this) that the car now feels/drives so much better. Feels like it's got more power/torque. The difference in how it pulls is really amasing and noticable! I checked the list of things they did and looks like the 7.5k service only involves replacing oil and oil filter (other bits only inspected). Whatever the reason is I am very pleased

Another thing I did at the same time was to change geometry to Prodrive spec. Wow! What a difference! It was quite funny taking my usual route back home and going through the already familiar bends... in this "new" car. The car felt so much better - no understeer, very responsive and more "composed." For under £50 it's superb value for money!!!

Excellent stuff!

Andrei

Was that £95 for the whole 7.5K service?? or plus parts?? I live local to Mill Lane and will be using them for my 7.5K in a couple of months.

Did you wait or have a courtesy car?

£95 total - including VAT. I waited. The service takes about an hour. In my case it was 2 because of the geometry setting work.

Pete - I thought you lived in SW London??? Or is there another Peter Lewis on this BBS?

Wink

The reason your car feels faster may be due to the fact that they actually put some oil in and you were running dry before....

That is a different Peter Lewis to me who does live in S W London!

pslewis - fancy starting the "Peter Lewis" Scooby club?!?

Andrei - did they say how easy it was for the geometry settings to get out of line again? I have to park up on kerbs quite a bit and would rather not have to pay out £50 every week

Robb,
Do a search for "Prodrive geometry". There were some excllent posts explaining in detail what it is... I am not technically minded so can't tell you. What I CAN tell you though is that the car is absolutely brilliant to drive!
Best,
Andrei

Subarussian

If you think Prodrive settings are good get yourself down to Powerstation in Cheltenham and have their settings done along with bumpsteer removal. The improvement over the Prodrive settings is even greater.

The best single upgrade you can make and only £100
