Angry MY03 Unlocking itself

Does anybody know if a MY03 will unlock itself if the battery is running low, this is when you lock it using the keyfob. Or does it mean the central locking's on its way out?

Cheers.

I think I might have had the same problem on my car.

I am 100% sure I lock it, but when I get back its unlocked.

Only happens every now and then though.

Is this the same as your problem?

Had a similar fault on my car a while back, turned out to be a faulty ECU on the alarm system. Very similar apart from my hazard lights would be on constantly after the car had 'dis-armed' itself.

The dealer swapped out the faulty ECU and all has been well since, he did mention (after speaking with Subaru UK) that they were aware of a couple of similar faults on other cars.

Liam.

And I thought this just happened to me!

I suffer from the dreaded flat battery problem (on the car that is, MY03 STi) and sometimes when I go to the car in the morning it is unlocked. I originally put it down to my own stupidity or accidentally pressing the button on the key fob whilst putting it in my pocket as the range is sufficient from the bedroom to do this but it looks like I was wrong.

Unlocks after the interior light goes off, which is about 20-30 seconds. It was unlocked this morning and is doing it all the time now.

I'll talk to the people who fitted the alarm for me, they might have an idea what's going on.

Thanks, Guys, if the threads still here I'll let you know how I get on.

Any car that unlocks itself because the battery is going low has a problem... without central locking you can always use the key to get in so it's not an issue. Get it sorted asap as it's not going to get any better...

Though I was going mad too..
Think my 03 WRX may have done this once or twice.

Steve.
