Default I'm new here! some Q's

Hi,

This is my first post

I am thinking pxing a scooby for my 1993 modded supra RZ 6 speed TT. I need to free up some cash and this appears to be the easiest way of doing it!

The car is a 1997 WRX STI Type R. It hasnt got a cat in it though. I've seen a few cats + downpipes for sale on here but I dont know which one would fit to get it through the MOT etc. Can anyone help??

I'm going to drive the car sometime in the next week hopefully.

Cheers,

Paul.

In theory, you should be able to get through the MOT with just a catted centre section. This is the easiest section to fit and remove too - the downpipe is a ball-acher.

A catted centre section from any turbo'd classic should slot straight in, though this may not be the case with some aftermarket exhausts.

Cheers for the welcome!

Cheers for the advice on the cat. think I can get that sorted now.

I'm going to test drive the scooby this week hopefully, are there any things that I need to look out for?

Anyone driven a RZ TT supra? How do the two cars compare? Is the scooby quicker off the mark?

Cheers,

Paul.

Oh,

And how much HP will a 1997 WRX STI Type R be kicking out at the flywheel/wheels?

Not sure that the centre section only will actually pass through the MOT. The car will need to be hot for that.

Best thing to do is find a friendly MOT centre somewhere

Oh and welcome............you do know the fuel economy of a scoob (ref - freeing up some cash)

I was thinking that it's going to be better than my 400bhp supra?

Paul, it should be 276bhp as standard, but thats on 100 ron Jap fuel, it'll probably need to be remapped for our lesser octane fuel. Either that or you need to invest in a job lot of NF/MIllers!!
