New STI in Auto Express

New STI in Auto Express
Haven't been on here for a while, so don't know if its been discussed.
Got a really good write up. Mentioned the wider track (by 15mm), and active yaw control which monitors the yaw and adjusts the diff automatically, which helps through corners.
Also has DCCD as standard, plus new interior.
Reviewed as the new STI Type-UK, available from November.
Also a very bad write up on Toyos Roadpro tyres - something to think about when the proxes are so fondly thought of?

nice to hear they finally liked a UK STi
bu active yaw control? erm, that sounds like a Mitsi m8
Perhaps they mixed up the fact that it now has a G sensor for the DCCD-A? That helps it react faster and more accurately than just the wheel sensors, brake pedal, steering and accelerator posi sensors it relied on to date. Works rather well IMHO
I hope the under body aero has made it. It is VERY nice IMHO - makes things much quieter, too (trick nicked from the new Legacy). I reckon it'd be a nice clip on mod for older GD bodies too.
114.3 PCD to watch for tho, if it has followed the same path as the STi here... Nice to have a stiffer hub, but the issue of transfering wheels (or rather not being able to) may come up for some. That is of course ASSUMING that it has the same hubs as were introed into Japan - not having seen the article, I am guessing of course).
Hope the new car is well received by the scoobynet community

it quotes a wider track by 15mm, and larger hubs, so I think they came through too. Also I think it mentioned some suspension tweaks.
Anyone know if these will also filter down to the WRX? Otherwise the difference between the two will be even wider.

The bigger hubs from the '05 Japanese STI are coming to the UK too. Mike Wood has confirmed that the PFF7 wheels will be made available in the correct fitment.

15mmin the track means you prolly get the alloy rear arms from the JDM, as well as the 8" wheels? Niice
The new model gets the C spec geom too, not to mention a better ride (is that the suspension tweak?) than before. Mucho less pain in the bum/back IMHO.
Nice spec that

Euro import for £21.5k then ??! - Problem still remains re PPP upgrade not being acceptable for Euro warranty - think Mike Wood need to look into this and get a knock for knock agreement (and not just for those running low octane!!)

Even T25 will be below £25k this winter
So, for all us addicts it is time to work out a way to raise the odd £20k !!
