I have a 2000 Jap import Sti, please could anyone recommend a service interval for it? And will subaru dealers touch it?

They were on 7500 mile ones then and the UK Scooby dealers won't touch em with a barge polll normally.

I have just visited my local Subaru garage in the UK, (Stan Palmer, Carlisle), he told me that he would be pleased to service my 2003 STi if I ever bring it to the UK.
He also told me that it is sometimes possible to transfer any remaining warranty from Subaru Japan to Subaru UK.

Not sure if this is the usual reaction.

Stan Palmers are certainly a lot better than the average, but I've never heard of any UK Scooby dealer willing to transfer warranty over. Is yours a Euro STi or a JDM one? The response I got from every garage around the North-West (anything lower than Lancs that is), was that they wouldn't even go near my 2003 STi SpecC.

Halfords will do it.

£12 for an oil and filter change, you can watch them do it, or brouse through their massive range of performance parts.

They use fully mineral oil too.

I bought some 'Tweety Pie' mud flaps and matching mats.....Nice.

Mine is a JDM model bought by myself in Japan.
Stan Palmers were very helpful indeed.

As I understand it, Subaru dealers in the UK are forbidden by Subaru to service JDM cars. Some dealers can be very helpful however, I have experienced that, but if the wrong person reads this thread, I imagine that Stan Palmer will have some tricky questions to answer shortly!

I am sorry if Stan Palmers were to suffer any problems for being named as a knowledgeable and helpful Subaru dealer. That would certaintly be a grave injustice. If Subaru UK are so insecure as to try bully boy tactics on UK dealers then shame on them.
Stan Palmers were quick to point out that if they were helpful to JDM STi owners it was highly likely that the next car purchased would be a UK spec STi from....... Stan Palmers !!!
