I hope I have PM'd everyone. Thanks for your help. Basically my Domain provider registered all my .com's and .co.uk's in his own name and has now disappeared of the face of the earth. Some are up for renewal and boy have I had problems with the .com's registered in the states. They are now under my control 
but for anyone buying a domain use someone like www.ukreg.com to purchase the domain in your own name and then assign a company to host the site, with UKREG you control the name servers etc etc.
We all live and learn !!!!!
