Help me understand the 3yr Warranty pls
Right, so I'm discussing Warranty with motorpoint and the guy tells me that the car comes with 3 yrs warranty. And that this warranty does not begin until I take possesion of the car. He tells me that I need to register the car with a UK dealer, and then the 3 year warranty will begin.
What the heck is that all about?

he says the car has never been registered, not even in cypress. so I just goto a UK Subaru dealer with the car, and a copy of the registration doc, to get the car added to subaru's warranty/service database?
thanks.
thanks.

i would check with IM first about cyprus imports, I registered a benelux import no problem, you have to send them the supplying delaers invoice (ie not motorpoint) copy of the certificate or conformity and i think that was it.
didnt think cyprus was officialy part of the eu yet so may not be recognised by the pan european warranty, could be wrong but check first.
cheers

EU warranties:
If the car comes from an EU country then forward copy of invoice from country of origin together with name and address details to IM. I have their address if needed. Be careful if car originates from a new EU member. Car has to be sold by that country on or after 1st May 2004 to qualify. If a fault develops it is diagnosed by Subaru dealer and the proposed repair is then sent on owner's behalf to country of origin to ask if they will cover under their warranty. Not all countries have same cover so ask before you buy.
NB you must adhere to the service schedule from country of origin, not Subaru (UK) Ltd schedule.
Warranty starts from tax point on country of origin's invoice, not on registration date in this country.
