Exhuast sound test
Hi
I'm on track at castle coombe this weekend and i'm obviously gonna have to do a sound check.
has anyone on here with a full decat and a scoobyworld ninja backbox had a sound check ???
if so was it below 100 dB at 45 deg, 1/2 m & 4500 rpm ???
if not, any idea if it will be

I'm with Phil on this Chris. CC are pretty tight on noise levels - local planning regs etc etc. I don't think your setup is going to be that quiet to be honest. Got a bung for the exhaust? Their limit is often set as low as 97 dB.

that is gonna be close, I had mine tested new age fulll decat with ninja BB. but with a resonator section still in the 2nd centre section. mine came out at 98db at 4k rpm inside a industrial unit / workshop.

I have a TSL Firestorm back box with decat centre section. I have kept the downpipe cat.
I hired a noise meter from www.bookatrack.com
I measured my MY03 STi at 102db static.
I would think your car will be louder as it is a full decat.
It's only £9 to hire a noise meter that includes return postage.

Doh...
hope i make 100 dB then. I'm off all week so might pop down to HSS. didnt realise they had sound meters.
I'm buggered if im putting a cat back on if it's over 100 dB though, might take my chances. i know its loud, didnt think it was that loud
