Bought a WRX STI Type-R!
Hi, newbie alert!
I have just bought a 1997 WRX STI Type-R for £9500, Bargain!
It's a total animal. All standard except straight thru exhaust.
I been feeding it Optimax with STP Octane booster. I heard alot of people talk about Millers Octane plus. Is this a better alternative?

it's certainly a cheaper alternative. get a knock-link fitted (search on here if you're not sure what a knock link is) and have some fun
welcome aboard- just take it easy until you get used to it as although they grip well if you get her out of shape she'll bite you on the **** pdq
all the best,
simon

still not 100% on the colour, but then again its currently around 6 different shades of yellow!
might like it a bit better after the paintjob!
just glad it was pretty cheap-its had a hard life!!

That yellow looks different to the later yellows on sti5/6. Just by looking at the picture you posted it might be worth changing the colour to the later shade as the yellow you have presently looks a bit harsh. (As you seem to be having a respray anyway?)
Can't really tell from one picture, it may be the same yellow anyway!

I just read a few old posts saying how STP Power Boost is crap so i'm gonna try ordering some Millers Octane plus.
I hear NF stuff is meant to be good but i don't fancy having to measure up everytime i fill up, i'd rather dump the whole bottle in!
Have to say I like the yellow one

i wouldn't put stp octane booster in mate. i had tiput it in once in my old scooby as i was down south, went on the motorway car didn't have the same umph and was smoking a bit....then on the motorway my fuelpump seized. got the aa ride home. when i took the old pump off to replace with a walbro one a greeny residue in the pump. don't know if these two things were linked or not. but to be on the safeside just put 1 complete bottleof millers octane plus for every tank, thats what i do
