Question Colour coding : how long to do the painting?

If there were three experienced body workers with all the kit etc., would it be possible to colour code the sills, mirrors, handles on a "classic" impreza in approx just over 24hrs and do a "proper" job?

Thanks for the reply Mr Gee (only 1 of 46 views!)

I guess with plastic it doesnt get baked?

I was just surprised that enough layers could be applied and rubbed down and applied and laquered and rubbed etc in that amount of time!

Cool

Based on my own personal experience of spraying imprezas / impreza parts the parts you wanted sprayed could be done in a few hours properly, providing they had an oven.

Cheers guys. I am having some work done by a garage with a good rep on SN. However, I was worried that they had done these bits so quickly that they would have needed to cut corners. I am not a paint expert and it sounds like I am just worrying over nothing. I'll stop fretting now and look forward to seeing her in all her new painted glory next weekend

yes it could.. and you dont need an oven to do it in that time..

2 pack primers have a pretty short 'air dry' drying time..

You dont need to put loads of paint on them and rub them down.. I would use a plastic primer and a 2k spray filler primer if it was me.. then paint and lacquer.. job done at home in a day.

Do a search for "U-pol paint rocket" if you dont have a day.

or speak to scoobyclinic.
