Default Help needed from any S202 owner!

Hello there fellow Impreza enthusiasts,

Its been a while since I posted here. Things are looking good over here.

Anyways, I need help.

I am hoping that someone that uses this message board actually owns a real deal S202. I need to ask you to tell me what the "ENGINE TYPE" is from the metal plate that is rivetted inside the engine bay. Same plate where you VIN# and colour codes are.

In case you are worried that it is some private info, it is not. I will just say what type of EJ207 engine is in that car and in all S202's in fact.

That number should be something like "EJ207DW4**".

Thats what I need. Please help!

- Alex

Could you still tell me what your numbers say, please.

I have no info on ENGINE TYPE of S202.

And I want to reconfirm the Spec C ENGINE TYPE.

Thanks!

You do know that the JDM engines changed in the 2003 model dont you?
They are about 80% different, internals, twin scroll turbo, equal length headers/manifold etc.

5EJ, perfect...

5 means it is a MY03 model. EJ means it is a RA C. Good good good.

I have a weird 4ER, and I cannot confirm anywhere what it is.

I know that a CR is a regular STi.

Now are the RA and RA C different?

I am only talking about block and heads. I don't care for anything else, as it is all custom on my car.

No. S202's were different from what Tony got.

I was told they had some very tricky components in its engine. Like nitrated crank, shimless buckets, etc.

Marc,
Its based on the same car but the S202 actually pushes out 320ps and not a lower figure of 280ps (its advertised as pushing 320 if you know what i mean? )
My car is an advancement on the S202, but not as powerful (except in torque) out of the factory. Saying that, if i were to buy a bug eyed STi then the S202 would be the one id go for (they have one here>> www.wickedkit.com )
Very nice cars

Power Junkie,

What model and year of WRX you have? This 4ET I never heard of.

Weee-haaa! 4ER is surely enough a S202 motor. I am very happy.
