Just a quick question bought a 04 WRX about a month ago just wondering do they have rear fog lights both sides because mine only lights up on the offside ??

I used to think the same, cheap attempt to save 4p by subaru.

But there are so many muppets who turn them on the first slight dull day in October then leave them on until April (not Scooby drivers obviously....). Then the fog light next to the brake light means the brake light is much more difficult to pick out. So at least if there is only a fog on one side you can easily see the other brake light.

I'm convinced that in the UK, with perhaps one day of fog that's bad enough to need fog lights each year, rear fogs used as they are by UK drivers are a net disadvantage.

I think learner drivers should be taught to use them like main beam. You put them on when there's no-one behind you (only if it's really foggy mind) then turn them off if someone catches up with you. But that requires you to have a bit of consideration for other road users so is obviously not going to happen.

You will find that a majority of car manufacturers only fit one rear fog light, this is to stop you getting confused between fog and brake lights

One fog light is far safer than two,i think all new cars only have the one, as said before it lets people behind actually see your brake lights coming on.

What is it with tw*ts who put their fog lights on when its raining then you cant see a thing for the glare or the other ones who stick theirs on because of a wee bit of fog ,but you can still see their rear sidelights from 500yds behind
Please people only use them when viibility is seriously reduced
