This is a comment from a past experience in my golf...
The garage towed in away and after several days told me the car was a right off and the cost to keep it there would be £45 per day... So, i decided to get a mate (garage owner) over to take a look for me (piece of mind) - It looked almost identicle to yours....
He bought the car off me and put in back in the jig.... Looked great - got inspected and all was well..
Sold the car on for a profit.
All the best

official repair price on the airbags is apparently - wait for it - £2500. The charge sits on top of the sensor - so when the charge goes off its bye bye sensor (@ £600 / sensor). Its just a blatent scam IMHO

I paid £11995 for it but my local scooby dealers around yorkshire are selling same sort o car for about £14500-£15000 sounds good to me(sometimes it is good to be ripped off by your local dealer)

not so..
i worked for one of the major airbag oem,s
the sensor is in a neutal position in the car,, usually in the dash or g change pillar
there are two sensors at the front of the car, and some others dependant on what ecu / bags are fitted...
when the steering wheel bag deploys, it will damge the wheel mount and associated wiring / circuitry there,, the main ecu would be unnafected, however, because it would always show a deply function, on innterogation, it would need to be replaced...

its gonna have to be £7-8ks worth of damage to right that off, i reckon they will repair it, but if you don't want it back, play your face as it looks pretty close.

The saxo party all ended up in hospital, driver had heart problems, couple of broken bones for his passengers
the saxo driver turned accross my carrageway whilst i was doing about 50-55 mph,had no chance of avoiding him,but luckily for me there was a police officer following him and he has filed a report stating that the saxo driver is to blame,so no problems with the whole"who's fault was it" jobbie
Just really annoying,it seems as if nothing is happening to get this matter sorted out, sitting and waiting

I stumbled accross an STI that had frontal damage in my local scrappy. The engine had been pushed right back underneath - made a hell of a mess of everything.
I think it's probably designed to go that way, one of these new fandango crumple zone things.
