Sti ver II wagon, concerns?
Hi, still pretty new on here, looking for a wagon and saw an "immaculate throughout" 1994 L Sti II wagon on the net, 50000miles £7395, thought it was very pricey. Couple of weeks later it was down to £6495, so went to take a look.
I was a bit put off by what I found and just wanted to know if I was being a bit fussy or whether my concerns were justified.
- drivers seat thigh padding disintergrating
- grey leather gearknob very badly warn
- no d/s spotlight (should they be covers not spots)
- smokers car and ashtray front was knackered
- pink supports for a front strut brace were there but no brace
was only a quick visit didn't have time to drive it and thought it was still overpriced for "immaculate throughout" .
worth getting it inspected or just steer clear. Oh and dropped to £5995 now
thanks

i think with this, it's easy to be attracted by the fact that it's an STI, but it does seem that it could be a bit steep on the price, though i'm not fully sure about the STI pricings.
the main thing though, is that you seem to be instantly un-impressed, so you have to ask yourself it is worth pursueing this car or just look at some others

Sounds a bit dodgy to me.
I'd personally steer clear, there are plenty more kicking about.
Just seems that if he hasn't bothered to fix these obvious niggles to sell the car, what else has he not bothered with

yeah, all the things point to a car that has had a hard 50000miles.
curious to know if the seat padding is a common problem as have seen another with the same thing.
