It's like any other car - if you abuse it - it'll break. Yours is an import, so you really need to check that its been run on SUL and octane booster - if it hasn't then you are probably already storing up problems.

If you cane it from cold - then it will eventually go wrong and to be honest, no one would have much sympathy for you. If you don't let it warm down properly after a good blast it will eventually break.

It's Japanese, which is a good thing in terms of reliability, but drive like a plonker and abuse it and it will break. Simple really.

Like above, warm it up and cool it down but in between cane it, otherwise you may as well drive a micra.

welcome to scoobynet. be prepared to have no money, now that you have purchased your bottomless pit. just wait to the modding bug strikes then your wallet and credit cards will take a serious pounding. jap 94wrx first port of call is a knocklink sensor. £150 quid is a helluva lot cheaper than a new engine. as Chris L says you motor until it is remapped for uk fuel is expecting 102ron fuel. optimax is the best you will get over here so i would invest in some octane booster. i found Nitrous Formula Black bottle to be the best. a tad expensive at £15 for 300ml but adding at 1ml per litre of optimax should see your detonation probs eliminated. most of the ppls on here are spot on so ask questions and read the FAQs.

cheers

What a nice welcome thanks a lot, i will definately be spending a lot of my spare time here. Have owned the motor for 2 days now and i am loving it. I drove to derby today and 5 scooby owners waved on the way up. Seems a really nice group of people.

Cheers

Regards Buzz

I would add that once you get used to it, you'll realise it doesn't need to be thrashed. 3-6.5k revs is where its at, the power tails off at the top end so dont do it!
