top gear!
Hi,
So who's a fan of topgear on here?
I have a cunning plan - i'd love to see a decent bike round the track and perhaps even a F1 or proper world rally car around their track so we can compare the times... would a bike beat the gt40? who knows...
So the trick is this - for as many people to email the team www.bbc.co.uk/topgear with this request as possible...
Good plan?
Dan

I'd like to see the rally cars on there so you can see the real difference between one and the road going equilavent. I wouldn't be surprised to see the rally car lap in the same bracket as the Mclaren Merc.....

I saw a Top Gear video once with a Cougar V6 (?), Colin MacRae's Focus WRC (at the time) and Johnny Herbert's F1 racing round brands hatch.
Clarkson started first in the Cougar, and gunned it away. After a minute or so, Herbert asked if Colin wanted to head after him which he did.
Johnny Herbert, after a read of his paper set off in the F1 car.
It was well staged and the 3 cars crossed the line at practically the same time, with the F1 winning, then WRC, then Cougar.
Amused me anyway.

I remember that episode - cracking stuff. The Cougar was squealing round the bends, the Focus was sliding and the F1 car just flying - top entertainment!

Wouldn;t it make more sense to have a good driver do the lap for comparison purposes?

The problem with the suzuki i think, is that it's loosened up? Surely that explains why everyone is going faster and faster and clarksons time is looking worse and worse??
I too can't believe all these recent people are really the same skill as Jeremy who's been skilled driving for 20+ years
Now im sure JC isnt the best driver in the world tho - and it would indeed be good to see a real f1 driver in there..
on the same note i'd love to do a lap myself, and see how crap i really am maybe we should request they do an open day of some sort!!!

Anyone seen the drift bible (I think its called) I remember seeing at the end of that there are quick clips of various cars doing battle. One of thought's clips was a std. Sti Vs a WRC Impreza. The WRC being set off a minute or two after. The sheer cornering speeds, maneuverability and acceleration of the WRC compared to the Sti was outstanding!
No doubt the infermous Stig would somehow manage to get understaer if let loose on a WRC round the track... lol
