I'm not normally given to paranoia, but who is behind this particular campaign? (I know the URL is registered to Jamie Watson, but who is he?). Unless petitions are handed personally to Number 10, with a media presence to ensure it receives publicity, it is pointless because it will be totally ignored. "We shall forward all of your electronic signatures in a printed paper copy to Mr Tony Blair" suggests a level of naivety about how Government works.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that.

Maybe it's some sort of scam, a waste of time or something that will make a difference, who knows?

I thought it was worth a look, the worst that can happen is you receive junk Email.
