But when I looked closer i realised they were all Peugeot 306's.
I wonder if Subaru had to pay Peugeot to borrow their paint plant for a weekend??

well i will agree with my 2 year old who had a backseat drive in a demonstator wr1-she went urgh at the colour and agreed mine was faster
the diffs appear to whine when accelerating/cornering-the dealer said they all do this?

Yet again a sadcase starts a slagging match! oh well I'm bored as well so I'll start..... the WR1 is the fastest and the colour is the best colour known to man (or woman).... YAWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN

i am not starting a slagging match merely asking a question regarding the differntials of a wr1 and how on the prolonged test drive i took i found the differentials to be whiney .
as far as i understand i am allowed to ask questions and as it is a valid point if i was to put 20,000 miles a year on a car and it was accompanied by a whine every time the diffs came into play.
this means you are either unable to understand the question or you are upset by a 2 yr old's comments?
i await you hopefully articulate and intelligent reply

Just out of curiosity.... Did you notice the noise when it was at a certain speed? something at 65mph? or was it general noise?
Thanks in advance for any response

Have any of u found if u hit a bump 'off throttle' there is a one off thudding noise coming from the region of the centre diff?
My nearest and dearest has spotted it and i just wanted to know if i should get the dealer to look at it on Saturday when it goes in for its service?

Also had the same compliments on the car colour. Everyone has said it looks better than the old P1 although maybe because they know how mad I am abou the car and they just don't want to hurt my feelings. Certainly gets a lot of compliments and looks though.
Also at the local ferrari dealer there is a brand new 575 in the same colour...!!! Looks awesome... better than the WR1

diff noise
the whining which appeared to be coming from just in front of the gearbox was most noticeable when cruising at ~80,i dont know if it was because i was not concentrating on cornering/accelerating!?! or due to quietness of exhaust on cruising.the dealer who i know quite well said all wr1's have this noise due to diffs, especially when doing low speed turns eg car parks.i found it quite annoying but cannot remember jdm owners moaning about it?

Had mine for 10 weeks now and everybody thats seen it have said without any prompting "love the colour" or words to that effect have yet to find someone who dislikes the colour or someone who don't coment on it apart from the green eyed monsters on here, I know its down to personal choice but heres how it looks so far:
love the colour: loads of people,
dislike the colour: no one yet (apart from people on scoobynet who can't afford one),
no comment about colour: no one yet,
so guys the general public say the WR1 colour is a very nice colour..............
"flamesuit on" LOL

Had the car a week. Can't go anywhere without people commenting - it happens every time I am out in it. I drove past a junction today and a guy on a pushbike, waiting for me to pass, yelled out, "Beautiful!". I assume he wasn't talking about me.

No I jest, I like it A LOT although I've not seen it in the flesh yet.
regarding diff whine on JDM models, my STi8 whines like a goodun. Quite like it myself.
And as to ref to WR1 looking like a 306.DOH!!
