My car I've had for nine months and it has now done 15,000 miles but I also run an old Nissan Primera (M REG) and have done 9,000 miles in that, so 24,000 miles in 9 months and I don't drive for business - this is just to and from work and for pleasure etc etc.
Otherwise the Scoob would be at 30,000 miles by the end of the year
Trade value = NIL!!!

L.A. Freeway Driver 500 miles a week!
I started a new job April 1 (April Fool's Day!). I now drive 44 miles each way. With the odd side trip, it's over 500 per week. (My old job was 11 miles, but they moved to Florida, too far to drive, even for L.A. drivers!) My 2000 2.5 RS (U.S. Model) has just turned 48,000. My wife's '96 Outback just turned 90,000. I've heard Subes are good high mileage cars, we'll soon find out. Our's have been great so far, really small problems. Outback water pump around 60K and a couple of sensors (fuel level, and throttle sensor) on mine, both warranty jobs. Good thing is that I'm getting 28 mpg with all the freeway miles. Wife's outback gets 18-20, mostly city. Let the good time miles roll!

16 month old STi just had 40000 service, most of that is done on A and B roads in Wales (its a dirty job but someones got to do it ), mixed in with occasional long motorway trips (420 miles on Thurs).
I usually see 230-260 miles on a tank (although not really into the red), before filling up although the trip on Thurs would have seen about 310-320 if I'd chanced going to the next service station on the M6

I am usualy on my own but to compensate have a boot full of tools & spares ( for my job not the car ! ) and I weigh the wrong side of 14st.
I can't imagine only getting 200 to a tank, I am on 190ish miles when the needle hits halfway.

Trust me it does, and no it clocks up miles not km !
Filled up today 330.1 miles 50.43 litres, just under 30 mpg to my calculation. I as a rule always use Sainsburys SUL, its cheap and seems good. I tried optimax and could not notice the difference.

I'm getting around 300 miles to the yellow light when travelling off peak times but it drops when carving through the rush hour.

Hiya!
I bought mine with 0 miles on 1st Nov 2002, it's now on 64,000 something. It may be worth looking at the unlimited milage warranty but it's not cheap. I didn't in the end because of the de-cat etc.
Way I look at it is that for the majority of miles it's not being stressed, I've had several Japanese cars before and have had them to 200k without incident and I'm hoping to do the same with my WRX. Even with big miles on it, in 2 years time some boy racer will fancy it and pay several thousand, but I am hoping to keep it as the Sport's replacement and get an STi
BTW, touch wood, it's not the most expensive car that I've run yet, fuel's not too bad, servicing is ok'ish and the F1 tyres last ages, got over 30,000 on them and at 90 a tyre that's pretty good. Also, every so often you can do a tweek here or there and feel like you've got a new car again.
Finally, a mate with a newish 996 said that it feels and looks like it's got 6,000 on the clock, not 60,000.
Hope you enjoy the miles

Thanks Mike, its reassuring to know the car should keep going for many more miles. Talking about tyres, presumably you recommend the F1 then, I am not too impressed with the potenza's, whilst they are wearing OK I find them very noisy and grip in the dry not great Any thoughts ?

Last service I drove an 04 waggon with Pro Drive springs and the Bridgestones. I was amazed at how less precise the steering was and how saggy and 'understeery' the feel was, I did notice that the tyres were quite worn though - at less than 4k miles too. The PPP was just excellent though!!!!
I'm intending to keep my car for as long as I can, a minimum of 4 years and aprox 180,000, fingers crossed it doesn't burn up, blow up or go pop! I reckon that I'm not stressing it out too much, first set of pads were at 50,000, motorway miles are not very hard on the car - or are they????? :-)
Cheers!

Cheltenham I think, sorry, it's been a long day! There are other places that people here talk highly of though. BTW, had it checked after 40k and was pretty bang on so seems like it doesn't need doing more than once per 100k As you can tell from my pad wear, I'm no boy racer, but the 4 wheel alignment really does make the driving much more fun and it's better for tyre wear, assuming you go for a sensible road set up.
If you're thinking of Eibach's or Pro Drive springs etc try to test drive the various set ups. I'd be happy to let you check mine out.
