I would expect the Forester to be quicker up to about 80-90mph, after that they are about as aerodynamic as a house brick (all be it a bloody fast housebrick!).
I've got a full decat JDM Forester (so hopefully it's somewhere between 240-260bhp) and it's quick.
Still the Forester owner can be smug in that the Impreza owner:
1) will think there is something wrong with there car as it can't pass a family estate
2) is probably paying twice the insurance + tracker costs etc
3) daren't leave their car for longer than 30s without someone trying to steal it
Big up the Forester massive

I had to mod my old 97 S/tb to get to 260bhp/240 lbft.
Yours is either modified or went on a very generous rolling road.
Even the STi Forester of that time only had 250 PS (about 244 bhp) as std.
What torque did you get and what power @ wheels was this?
BTW, my Forester was slightly behind UK turbos up to about 80mph but then it was all over due to the aerodynamics.
0-100 was 18.35, 1/4 mile was 15.14 @ 91.6 mph - it looked like from 90-100 mph (and then over 100 mph) it is really suffering from its shape.
The special TD04 turbo is great for low down torque but it looses its way after 5000 rpm.

My research agrees with Butty. 250PS for a JDM import.
I beleive the UK Foresters are quicker of the mark partially due to he gearing. They are geared to pull caravans.# etc.
