Default Normal driving and idling

Just a quick one.

I idle my car every time after I drive it but just wanted to know if a daily drive to work does not use the turbo at all does the car need idling?
B4 anybody goes mad at me I will still idle the car even if loads of you say it ok not to.

It only needs idling after being driven hard but if you drive it gently and let everything cool down you can switch it straight off.

p.s How's it going?

If your daily drive has a sustained speed of less than 50mph and you don't use the turbo then it doesn;t get hot enough to require extra idling to cool down. As a note having a totter round the block at 20-30 mph for a mile or so has the same effect.

Now, if your going down the motorway at a sustained 70+ and jump off onto a service station and park and turn off - that's when you have problems. As does having a heavy blast round the A and B roads in the country (30 to 60 as quick as possible then back to 30, then to 60 again etc.), will require cooling down.

You need to tell us more of what your "drive" to work is to make any proper comment.

Edit: Just realised its Brum...not ever going above 40mph then so no cooling down needed
