Had a lucky one tonight
As I pulled into the car park of CCS Performance in Tuxford, we noticed a smell of oil coming from the car, as well as a rapidly increasing pool of oil accumulating below the undertay of the engine.
After turning off the engine and checking the car, we found the oil filter had cracked!!!
Luckily we were quickly able to replace the filter quickly and top up the oil! Only lost about 1 litre.
Thanks Chris, despite all the crap surrounding your car being nicked yesterday

Didn't hit anything! The undertray was underneath - the oil was pi$$ing through that initially.
I'm off back down there today. I'll grab a photo of the damage.

In theory there's a relief valve and excess pressure shouldn't be a problem, low pressure is the usual problem!
Dunno! It just seems such an odd thing to fail, I've never seen or heard of one fail in any way, in my 11 years in the trade!

Burr what Filter was it ?
My gasket was shot, even from brand new, and I had pi55ing out over my drive, and thanks to Chris from CCS, he drove all the way to my house to fix it for me
Vulnax's seal blew on the way home from scoobyshootout, and dump the entire contents of engine oil, all over the motorway, his undertray, & front wheels in 20 seconds flat !!!
