Any advice welcome...
Greetings again all.
I have a dilemma and was wondering if any of you kind folk can help me out with some advice. Here goes...
My car is a new WRX, unmodified, as it is a contract hire vehicle.
Whilst drinking with some friends at the weekend, the subject of the "run what ya brung" events at Santa Pod came up. As the evening wore on and the drinks flowed, my mate who has a Suzuki GSX 600 challenged me to a race.
Naturally I accepted.
Soooo, here's where you guys come in.
Can anyone suggest any ways of upping my chances, maybe a tempory chip or something like that. As I mentioned earlier, I can't modify the car in such a way that when it goes back I get rollocked by the firm I hire it from
Whaddaya reckon?
Cheers from Paul

Saw a Supra cross into the other lane by accident at SantaPod the other weekend, you could alway try that route! Problem is he'll probably be half way down the track by the time you get there. + he is a mate!
Hope no money was involved...
Good luck!

agree with all above comments, raced my mate on his GSX R and low down speeds he killed me, 100+ was alomost even. But thats in my lightwieght 280BHP STi.....
If you really wanna beat him and your minted, throw 20k+ at your car and you might....just!
ps. GSX R has a simular 1/4 mile time to a Maclaren F1.....

Cheers for the advice guys.
I know I'm gonna get whupped, I was trying to find a way to make it look half, or even quarter decent.
Come on guys, there must be some little tweaks I can make

Paul,
The only chance you have is if you start in the left hand lane, when the lights go green, hit the floor and turn right, hopefully dismounting your opponent this will then allow you to cruise casually to the end of the 1/4 mile the Victor!
Failing that your f*cked mate I have an RB5 WR Sport and a GSXR 750, trust me the bike pis*es all over the car

Depends how much cash d?
You could get it ECUtek remapped. Worth a fair few horses there. Air filter, exhaust system, that helps more.
Buy 'em., fit 'em, run, them remove and return / sell em.
By the way, thats near £2000 worth there! For say 60 bhp increase, and still the bike will win!

Have taken on-board all comments and decided to:
1. Check with SantaPod to see if they allow bikes vs cars (fingers X'd here )
2. If they do, borrow another mukka's new M3
3. Buy a mahoosive Humble Pie and make sure I'm hungry on the day!
Cheers all

A well launched GSX-R 600 would of course show it a clean pair of heels, not disputing that for a second
