Evo Article - New Direction for Jap STI
Fantastic article in this months Evo.
Seems the direction of the STI is shifting towards the Spec C. The new Jap STI (new interior and slightly wider rear due to wider tyres 235/45) is quoted as usual 276bhp but torque up to 304 ft/lbs....
Subaru has taken the knocks about dull steering and understeer and made 3 additions:
1) Inherits Spec C Geom + aluminium lat links and wider steering rack
2) Yaw rate feedback sensor to DCCD
3) Helical limited slip diff to replace Suretrac
The review goes on to give the car 5 stars !!!
No news of plans to bring the car to the UK as yet - so get your orders over to your friendly importer
Oh.. and it lapped the ring in 7 mins 59 secs

I think it was the Spec C that managed 7:59 - still a deeply impressive car though. Nice to see them making some real changes to the car to improve handling and steering feel (which has always been a weakness)

It's black. I thought long and hard about the grey - I agree it would be nice to have something that's obviously different - but couldn't convince myself it would look right without seeing one close up. Also I figured that having a readily available colour wouldn't do any harm in the event of a ding...

I think you are getting confused with the diameter?
