Default New WRX owner

I recently purchased a CAT D write off from my local scrap yard. Its a 1992 Jap import WRX with 138k km on the clock which is approx 86k miles. Basically it needs new near side front wing, bumper, bumper iron, bonnet, headlight, side light and a couple of parts of the slam panel. I paid £2500 for it and i reckon i will spend approximately £1000 getting back to mint condition (including a complete respray)

Basically, is there anything that i need to know about these cars, need to check etc etc before i get it on the road?

It obviously needs an MOT, so does anyone have any recommendations as to what to make sure is ok, before i get it MOT'd?

Thanks

Luke
