Does anybody know???
Does anybody know of any other subaru forums...seems that on this board nobody has ever imported a sti 4 before as I can't find an answer to my problem of not being able to find a model report for it.
model reports.com do not do them
Surely someone has imported an sti 4 before?????
cheers

its only been since april that a model rport was required
most cars are being done but the process is slow
at the moment do not import unless you are 100% sure a model reports available or your car will be sat for months even years
its made it very hard to easyly import anything under 10 years old and the car has to be totaly standard to pass the esva so probly easyer to take to a specialist company for esva prep work
its depressing as all the best cars come from japan :0 and we end up with second rate uk spec

There isn't a model report yet for an STi 4 and there's good chance there never will be due to the age/popularity thing.
I sincerely hope that you haven't been caught out. If you have tough luck! - you can either commission your own report [ about 5 grand ish ] or wait and hope that someone else does. Or break the car for spares to a starved market and move on. If you do make your own report you will be able to rent it out to people for about 300 quid a go and you'll probably get your money back - may even make a profit.

Although I believe that if you install a sink with taps and a waste pipe, it will be allowed in without ESVA as a motorhome or camper van, which circumvents the regulations.
ASK !! Before you start drilling holes in the floor of your Scoob as it may be hearsay.

So, what do you reckon I should do??
I've won the auction over at bonsaicars.co.uk but no money has been exchanged yet...do you reckon I should jump out, QUICK??
Maybe just swallow, and pay the deposit etc and move on, perhaps get a '96 instead??
cheers

Just remember that you have a choice on Import duty. Car duty if you want it to be a car is 10 % + VAT; car for spares [ breaking ] is 4.2% + VAT, but once declared and paid as spares you will have an amount of backtracking to do with Customs to redeclare it as a car for registration.
