New 04 WRX Owner + 4 WR1s!!!
Hey,
Okay, so the 4 WR1s was to get everones attention although I did see them on a eastbound transporter on the M4 yesterday. (if you live east of Bristol in the south, yours is on the way!).
Thought I would give you my impressions of my new WRX 04 after completing 1035 miles..
Note: Last car was a Ford Puma so that should help you guage my responses...
Negatives first...
Same as most people I think. The rattles are a joke (and my last car was a ford!!) and the radio is a pile of crap. I could also do with a quicker steering rack with a smaller steering wheel (it felt like steering a ship at first!). Hopefully i'll get used to it but it also seems to wander a little bit on the motorway.
Positives...
In my time I have been lucky enough to 'have a go' in a variety of fine cars (F355, F360, F550, Elise, 911 turbo, Aston Martin DB7 to name a few) and the subaru has a very good portion of the same 'buzz'. The noises, smells, feel and adrenalin rush are all there.. And in a car I can drive my family around in every day!... while it's raining!...with a bootload of shopping!.
I had mine fitted with the PPP exhaust from day1 and the noise is awsome. Starting the car up is a sound I don't think i'll ever get bored with and sitting in traffic has suddenly become a pleasure.
Anyway, it's in for it's 1000m service tomorrow morning and then it's pedal to the metal all the way baby!
Look forward to spending some more time on this board.
Cheers for listening
